Regular burning permits are issued for five days. You may be cited up to $163 for burning without the proper permit or for burning contrary to permit restrictions. Burning permits are not required for warming or cooking fires. You are responsible if your fire gets away. You become liable for all expenses incurred in suppressing a fire and will be responsible for all damages caused by the fire. Burning of asphalt, rubber, plastic, wet garbage, wet paper or oily substances is prohibited. All burning permits are canceled when a red flag forest fire alert is in effect.
